The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise has rated 90% of the University of Nottingham’s research as being of international quality with over 60% defined as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

In terms of ‘research power’ the University is ranked 7th in the United Kingdom according to the independent analysis of Research Fortnight, making The University of Nottingham the biggest mover in the Top 20; up seven places from 14th.
