New gallery for photographers to open in Nottingham
13 July 2010A new gallery to showcase the talent of photographers is to open in Nottingham.
The new gallery will open in Aspley, Nottingham will be the only contemporary gallery of its kind to focus solely on the artistic temperament of photographers.
The gallery will be called The Nottingham Photographic Contemporary Art Gallery and is due to open to the general public on July the 14th.
The aim is to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to be inspired by photography and will showcase the work of both professional and amateur photographers alike.
The Nottingham Photographic Contemporary Art Gallery has been established by Paul Storer of Paul Storer Photography and Karpal Nijjar of KNK and will open with work from the likes of Jennifer James, Rebecca white and Paul Storer.
Paul Storer one of the gallery's founders said, 'We are eagerly anticipating the launch of The Nottingham Photographic and it has been in the planning stages for a very long time.
'Myself and Karpal had a vision of a gallery that would create not only an artistic backdrop for photographers UK wide to showcase their works of art, but a home where people of all ages can come to view the creations in a friendly atmosphere, where they can ask question's about the work they are presented with.
Karpal added, 'We hope that our work will be used to inspire local colleges and universities. We are lucky enough to have access to some of the country's greatest photographers, and we hope that this will help to keep Nottingham at the forefront of contemporary photography.
