Wayne commented: 'Creative October is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Nottingham's creative talent, KiosKiosK, Creative Business Awards and Roses Design Awards will create new international business opportunities and give Nottingham the recognition it deserves.'

Nottingham will be the first host city outside of London to host this initiative which aims to help new businesses get a step up on the ladder. KiosKiosk was launched in London at the end of July and three Nottingham companies had the opportunity to be based at KiosKiosk for a couple of days which was a huge success. The two creative companies helping Wayne to launch the KiosK will be The Shrug Ladies www.shrugladies.com and Sonodesign www.sonodesign.co.uk

The opportunity comes as Nottingham is celebrating its creativity and innovation to enhance its profile as a creative city of national and international importance.
'Creative October' will see a wider push on Nottingham's creativity and a variety of events will take place to showcase Nottingham's creativity and talent.
The Nottingham Creative Business Awards will take place on Wednesday October 7th 2009 and will celebrate the city's creative sector which enhances Nottingham's profile as a creative city of national and international importance.

For the first time ever Nottingham will also host the 2009 Roses Design Awards (historically held in Manchester) in association with Invest in Nottingham. This prestigious national awards ceremony will take place on Friday 23rd October at the East Midlands Conference Centre.

The Roses Design Awards are about promoting excellence in design, both in terms of graphic design and architectural design. This might be through an innovative piece of work, a new approach to design and of course a concept that's inspirational.

Roses Design Awards are diverse with categories covering a range of graphic and architectural categories.

Nottingham is also being showcased at London Design Week from 24 - 27 September 2009. A group of ten Nottingham Companies have secured space at London Design Week and they will be collectively exhibiting at the London Design Week under the Nottingham City Council and Invest in Nottingham Banner.
